On "For Fun, For Keeps"

On a recent trip home to Indiana, my husband and I were digging through his "baby box" of childhood memorabilia when we came across his "cuss book," a battered green and black notebook filled with imaginative slurs, rambling obscenities, and ornery plays starring characters such as Beavis and Butt-Head and Bob Dole.  At the tender age of eight, he had a colorful and extensive vocabulary that his mother thought would be better written down than spoken aloud.  We also unearthed his old POG collection.  These two artifacts come together in my story "For Fun, For Keeps."
